Limitless Living Blog #14 - Closer to God

Closer to God

The older I get, I see how important a relationship with God is. If you’re not connected to Him, you will feel drained. Same concept for your phone and its charger. You phone will eventually die out if it’s not connected to the charger. I’m not saying if we drift away from God, we’re going to die. But spiritually speaking, we might. Welcome to the 14th blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog. My name is Scotty, thanks for tuning in.

Closer to God. We should pray, read the Word, I understand all of that. But recently, I was reminded how refreshing it was to be in true relationship with Jesus. Talking to Him and being in His presence. You feel a peace no human can explain. It is that “peace that surpasses all understanding.”

One thing I’ve also realized is God is so good, He allows us to go through things so we can become stronger spiritually. “For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Perfect and complete, needing nothing. That sounds amazing! So I’ve come to learn, I don’t need to be mad when God allows me to go through hurricanes and storms, He does that on purpose. I just need a great connection with my charger. Once you charge your phone, rather Samsung, Apple, or whichever brand it may be, the phone is so powerful. We are too! We have so much energy inside of us that can do and be several things we need that energy to be. Ministry, parenthood, fitness, business. The phone can run multiple apps at once, so can we. When we’re plugged in with God, we can juggle all of the areas of life. We may get stressed or overwhelmed, but He will help us when we call out to Him.

Process:

  1. Stay plugged in so we don’t die spiritually.
  2. With your renewed strength, go be a blessing to someone; spouse, kids, someone in need, someone struggling, your pastor, whoever.
  3. Learn to take care of responsibilities but your first responsibility will always be plugging in with God.
