Snowed In

If you live in the same state as me, you’re probably snowed in. We are currently and it’s pretty bad outside. The roads are covered in snow/ice and it’s still coming down this morning. Why am I saying all this? Do something, take advantage of this opportunity. Most people are probably off from work right now and consider it a rest day. If I’m being frank with you, I do too. I consider days like today to be off days. However, if I choose to look at it through this lens of having more time today to accomplish something outside of my job, then that’s the right lens. Snowed in. Great opportunity. If you’re married, work on your marriage today. If you have children, be an amazing parent today. Yeah, you got off work, which is great, but consider this. Now you have 24 hours today that you would not have had if you went to work. Let’s say for example, your typical work hours are 9am-5pm. That’s most of the day, we can all agree. Now all of a sudden, looking at this as an opportunity, you now have a wide open schedule. Clean the house, be productive, and work on your money. Whereas if you went to work, you couldn’t have done any of this. Snowed in is an opportunity, not necessarily always a “day off”. I just believe the successful people look at these days as opportunities not just for rest. We all need rest too, don’t get that confused, as I do sometimes. Rest is just as vital. But today is Monday, and if you rested on Saturday and Sunday, we can be productive today. I can be productive today. Today’s not just a rest day, but a day for growth.
