Limitless Living Blog #96 - Dream Too Big

Dream Too Big

I was listening to a video by Steve Harvey. He was encouraging the audience during his talk show. A lady was commenting to Steve about her husband's substitute teaching. The husband had been a substitute teacher for about 10 years, if my memory serves me correctly. Shortly after that, the wife explains to Steve that she wants her husband to dream bigger and become a full-time teacher. Aka, strive for more. Steve looks at her and starts speaking about the dangers of dreaming too small. Mentioning to her, if you dream of something small and hit your “dream”, did you really win? On the other hand, he emphasized dreaming big. If you hit the “big” dream, you obviously won. If you don’t hit the “big” dream, then you still probably achieved your smaller dream just trying to achieve the big one. Basically, you can never dream too big. My name is Scotty and welcome to the 96th blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog.

I’ve been caught up in my dreams before of being a speaker/motivating others. When I explain it to some people, I can tell they’re thinking, “yeah okay, this guy’s crazy and out of his mind.” When I explain it to someone who believes in me, my wife, I get a totally different response: “I believe you can do anything you put your mind to.” With all this being said, hang around people who encourage you, not harm you. And don’t ever let dreams be too big, that’s impossible. We serve a big God, and I promise you, He’s still in the miracle-working business. He will be forever, He never changes. Am I saying God is going to grant every prayer you’ve ever prayed? I have no idea, I’m not God. But believe in your dreams, believe in your prayer, and watch what happens. Make your dream so big that some people think you’re crazy. That actually means you’re on a good path. If people are doubting, it probably means you’re doing something they don’t believe they can do.
