Limitless Living Blog #88 - Return on Your Investment

Return on Your Investment

You reap what you sow. It's Biblical. It's common sense. It's real. A cause and effect. Sow good, reap good. Sow bad, reap bad. Sow hard work, get results. Sow laziness, get the consequences. My name is Scotty and welcome to the 88th blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog. Thanks for tuning in!

This concept. I grasped it, but rarely ever applied it, and I'll explain why. When I would think I'm trusting in Christ, I would let go. Yes let go in a good way, and let Him handle it. But I’d also let go of my part too. So I'd be saying “I’m trusting God!” In reality, I actually wasn't. The Bible says, “faith without works is dead.” Meaning if you don't put any work behind your faith, you don't have faith. So I would ask God for more money, but not put in the work/discipline to get more money. It's weird even thinking it. I was completely double-minded. Vice versa. There have been many times I didn't trust God and trusted myself, and became a workaholic. In a bad way. Stressing, worrying, working 24-7 but still not seeing the results I wanted. I can't explain it fully, but it has been one of the hardest concepts to grasp. The crazy thing is, I know it's simple. You trust God AND work hard. Not one or the other. I heard Dave Ramsey say this: “Pray like it depends on God, work like it depends on you.” One of the greatest sayings I've heard. Still, to this day, I haven't fully grasped it. I will one day. I will fully depend on God, but work like it depends on me. Work hard whilst trusting God even more.
