Fear vs Faith
Fear of the unknown. Fear of failing. Fear of life’s bounce-backs. There is much in life that causes that word to pop up. I’ve seen fear, you’ve seen fear, we all have. Life isn’t easy and it can easily punk us around if we let it. But thank God we have hope. Welcome to the sixth blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog. My name is Scotty and I appreciate you tuning in.
Fear vs Faith. It’s the ultimate battle. Two titans colliding against one another. The crazy thing about both is, you ultimately can feed one or the other. It’s impossible to feed both. I have personally fed my fear into treacherous territory mentally. I have fed my faith to the point where I could move mountains. Fear is something negative. Faith is something positive. So they’re opposite. Why do I say all this? Well both are extremely powerful as we all know. God grants us a certain level of faith. The enemy can give fear. It’s up to us which road we take. The weird thing is, when I release fear, it’s almost immediately I pick up faith. For example; let’s say this rock I picked up off of the ground was fear, and the leaf beside it is faith. I go to pick up the rock and “I have fear” in this example. I put the rock down because I hated it. I go pick up the leaf on the way up, and now I have faith. It was a transfer of belief system. I took back one thing and exchanged it for something better. I didn’t pick up the rock, put it down and walk away. I picked up the rock, put it down, and picked up faith. Now the leaf is going to blow with the wind, storms, all of life’s obstacles. We have to firmly grasp that leaf (faith) in order to keep ahold of it. Otherwise, the storm will easily blow that away. Life, if we let it, can break that leaf easily. But, with a tight hold on the leaf, it’s not going anywhere.
This is why it’s important to stay rooted in good faith with God. This is also why you need the right circle of influence on your side. You and your spouse need to be on one accord. All of this needs to be in tact, that way it’s much easier to hold on to that leaf we call faith. When you have the right person/s in your ear feeding you, it’ll change your world, believe me.
Process:
- Understand and acknowledge if you’re moving in fear or faith.
- Once you’ve acknowledged, set a standard for yourself in your personal, professional, spiritual, and relational life.
- Be a light for others struggling with fear. Fear isn’t easy, and can ruin a person’s day. Be on the lookout how you can help others.
