Limitless Living Blog #47 - Boogeyman

Boogeyman

We’ve all seen him. The boogeyman, aka, your brain playing tricks on your mind. The boogeyman can be multiple things, for different people. Some of us, it's worshipping your plateau. What do I mean by that? I once heard a pastor say this; “One of the ways the devil gets Christians to shut up, is to give them a check every two weeks.” Why did he say that? He was saying we worship the jobs that we have. We don't believe we can do any better, because of the boogeyman syndrome. Is having a W2 job bad? Of course not. Is being self-employed a bad thing? Of course not. Is having a 9-5 a bad thing? Of course not! But I will say this, I do believe a lot of Christians have more potential in them than they know, including myself. My name is Scotty and welcome to the Limitless Living Blog. This is the 47th blog post, thank you for tuning in.

The boogeyman. We all hate him, but he has existed in our minds once or twice before. Our plateau is a great example of the boogeyman syndrome. I believe in my heart of hearts that a lot of Christians are being pushed by God to level up, and they aren't simply because of this syndrome. May I remind you and myself, this syndrome isn't real. I struggle with this plateau thing as well. God has called some of us to be much more than a 9-5 or “play it safe”. But if we don't take that step, God isn't going to bless us. Some of you wouldn't even comprehend quitting your job, even if God told you to. When all along, God could be blessing you with something far greater than that job. But because of the boogeyman, we're staying at this plateau. All I'm saying is, you’re more talented them you give yourself credit for. You're way more gifted than you know. If you just applied faith and confidence, your mind would be blown. Same with me. I lack faith and confidence a lot of times. I notice though, when I am in that state of mind, it's not a wealth mindset. And if you're unsure if you're worshipping your plateau, just ask God. Let him know you're confused. And believe in yourself. You were created in the image of God.
