Surrender to Empower
What does it mean to surrender? The definition says: “to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand”. When we yield to the power of God, we actually are empowered. It’s kind of crazy to think about. We surrender to become empowered. You’d think it would be the other way around. When we don’t surrender, we become empowered. But when it comes to our faith, it’s not that way. Welcome to the Limitless Living Blog, my name is Scotty. Thank you for tuning in.
Surrender to become empowered. The definition of empower is: “Make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights.” We have so many rights when it comes to our faith. We also walk in confidence in our faith. We give up our life for God, He makes us confident. Confidence in Him, our gifts, our abilities, our lives. So the more we surrender, the more of these amazing qualities we possess. God loves when we surrender, and I believe we are blessed from doing so.
It doesn’t make sense not to surrender to Him. We receive the fruits of the Holy Spirit when we surrender and keep Christ first in our lives. Keeping in alignment with Him. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
Galatians 5:22-23 NLT
This fruit is everything we want in life. Why not surrender to God? We all want peace. We all want joy. All of that fruit! Let’s just surrender so we can become powerful through Christ.

- Figure out where you struggle to surrender and ask God to help as you do #1.
- Help others surrender fully to God.
