Character and Money

God put something on my heart this evening. Oh it was amazing. He has gifted me with certain talents, mindset, and vision to be a creator. Not only for me and my family but to others and His Kingdom. I was wrestling with God and I kept feeling that I was not using my gifts fully. Like I’m not making the amount of money I should be making. I’m not impacting the way I should be impacting. God laid on my heart, so gently: It’s the character not your talent. My name is Scotty and welcome to the 20th blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog. Thanks for tuning in.

What does all this mean? Like I mentioned, I was wrestling with God in my gifts and talents. I’m knowing someday God’s going to be bless me in abundance. God’s called me to do so much when it comes to money. Teach on money, to go out and make money, give money away, steward it well, all of these components. With that being said, I felt as though I wasn’t using my gifts and talents wisely. So I’m basically asking God, “what do I do?” Because what I’m currently doing isn’t amazing, and I want to step into amazing. I want to walk in abundance. I want to bless in abundance. I know I have the talent, so why am I doing this? He told me “character”. My character needed and needs worked on. It all clicked to me. If He were to bless me with this abundance I speak of right now, He knows my character wouldn’t be right for it, in this current season. My giving heart needs to increase. My stamina for doing good needs to increase. My diet and workout regimen needs to increase. Me being a great father and husband needs to increase. I need to increase in my faith for the increase. Does that make sense? I know this is for somebody, I just don’t know who. Less of me, more of Him. I can’t be selfish and expect God to give more. I can’t be a bad steward of my money and expect God to bless me 10x. It’s not going to happen. 

Process: 

1. Figure out and pray about which areas of your character need increased, as well as decreased.

2. Get around a solid mentor to help inspire you to greatness.

3. Constantly have a giving spirit/heart. With the overflow as well as the lean seasons of your life.
