God’s Calling, Your Wisdom
I’ve been wrestling with God recently. He wants me to do something I don’t want to do. My wisdom says this is a bad idea. God’s calling says this move is wise. I refused time and time again. However, I knew He was right. My name is Scotty, and this is our 19th blog post. Welcome to the Limitless Living Blog. Thanks for tuning in.
Our wisdom vs God’s calling. A battle that may have taken place in your life. It certainly did in mine. My wife is very wise, to say the least. Wise is an understatement when it comes to my wife. My and her recently had a tough conversation about something. God was all in the mix during that conversation. My wisdom, small and immature, wanted nothing to do with what we talked about. Like I said though, I knew she was right. How? I felt the peace of God all over what she was saying. I was battling it. I simply didn’t want to do any of it. So my, “so called wisdom”, said no. God’s calling said “yes.” Long story short I gave in. Once I gave in, I have felt more peace than I have in some time. God’s calling will give you peace. Don’t get me wrong, you will go through valleys. However, the peace of God is eternal. It’s forever lasting. God will guide you through this journey, just believe. Have faith, and listen to Him in all circumstances.
Also, if your spouse is wise, please listen to them. Trust me, it’s well worth it. There’s times where I don’t want to listen to her, because my mind says, “I want it my way.” At the end of the day, I know God has blessed her with a certain amount of wisdom, that I don’t have. I can grind and work hard. I have a work ethic. I have motivation. I can speak. With wisdom on some things, not so much. I’m wise in some areas, but not all. Your spouse will compliment you in your weakness. Listen to them!
Process:
- Figure out what your will is vs God’s will.
- Identify where you’re not trusting God with certain things, because your “wisdom” tells you otherwise.
- Bow down and trust Him in all areas. Let the peace of God overwhelm you.
