Transaction vs Transformation
I go to Walmart and buy groceries. That’s a transaction. The transaction was currency for food. We do this daily, everywhere we go. Transformation is something that happens on the inside. God takes your stone heart and turns it into flesh. That’s transformation. Welcome to the 16th blog post here on the Limitless Living Blog. My name is Scotty, thanks for tuning in.
Transaction is defined as: an instance of buying or selling something; a business deal. That’s it. It’s a business deal. There’s no heart transformation, no mindset switch. It’s simply: I give you this, you give me that. We can’t be transformed with transaction only. It’s impossible. For example, I was using my physical health as a transaction. I said “I am going to the gym, and eating better”, but no true transformation happened. I just transacted bad food for good food, and started going to the gym. That didn’t last to long, because it was transaction. If it was transformation, it would’ve endured. Transforming your brain and heart to truly embody physical health is completely different than saying, “yeah carrots over cotton candy for now.”
Transformation happens in various ways. Only God can transform your heart. However, we have the power to transform some of our belief systems and strategies. God gives us free will to do so. So we need to spiritually transform with God, and let Him transform the way we think. Then we also need to transform some of our patterns. I’ve been close to God before, but have been out of shape. I need to transform my heart and mind to, once again, embody physical health. I’ve been close to God, but I’ve put work on a pedestal somewhat close to God, making it an idol. I’ve made mistakes, even when my mind, body, and heart were transformed. So transformed does not mean perfect, but it does mean you keep going when you slip and fall. Transaction might leave you stopping permanently when slip and fall. Transformation isn’t all about the results, but the vehicle and the manner in which you drive, to get your results.
Process:
- Figure out in your life where you’re transactional and not transformative.
- Pray to God that He’d help you become transformative in the areas you’re struggling in.
- Go be an example of how powerful transformative power is.
